Pitbull announced that he has canceled his May 31st show in Phoenix, Arizona in protest of the state’s controversial immigration law. Shakira recently went to Phoenix to talk to legislators about the law and Cypress Hill canceled a show in Tucson last week. Arizona’s controversial legislation states that officials and agencies on the state and local levels can make “a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person” if they come into contact with someone they have “reasonable suspicion” to believe is an illegal alien.
PITBULL’S TWEET: “I am canceling my concert in Phoenix on May 31. How is the country we enjoy and love bcuz of its human rights, freedom, opportunity and that has been built by immigrants, now start 2 deny them? It is contradicting 2 everything the USA stands 4.”
