Cypress Hill frontman B-Real, Xzibit and rising rapper Young De have formed a new group called The Serial Killaz. Though the joint album is nearly completed, fans won’t hear it until X drops his upcoming solo album, titled MMX, and B-Real releases the long-awaited Cypress Hill project this April. The Serial Killaz disc will be a “themed” effort, but further details have not yet been disclosed.

Lupe Fiasco recently revealed that he’s working on his first book. The transition from being a lyricist to an author seems natural and something he always wanted to become. The emcee explained writing a book “has always been a part of the plan.” Details concerning the title and release date are unknown but the book will be published under his legal name, Waasalu Muhammad Jaco. In addition, the rapper has completed his third studio album, Lasers, and is currently awaiting a launch date.

After Pitbull received the key to the city of Miami last summer, Mr. 305 is now scheduled to attend Miami’s Carnival Calle Ocho. The annual street festival is held during the weekend of March 12th and attracts close to 1.5-million people each year. Pit said in a statement, “I remember having some crazy times at Carnival Calle Ocho growing up. To come back this year to serve as king is an amazing honor and the perfect way to start what’s going to be my year.”

Shakira has teamed up with Spanish Tennis star Rafael Nadal for her new video for “Gypsy” off her She Wolf album. The video for “Gypsy” and “Gitana,” the Spanish version, were shot in Barcelona, Spain.  The sexy video captures a flirtatious and playful onscreen chemistry between Shakira and Nadal, who plays the love interest. According to Rap-Up.com, Ludacris is scheduled to join the Black Eyed Peas’ upcoming U-S tour. The E.N.D. tour kicks off February 4th in Atlanta and wraps April 10th in Tacoma, Washington. Ja Rule is still looking to fight the charges stemming from his 2007 gun case. According to The New York Post, the rapper’s defense lawyer told the judge that the officers who found an unlicensed gun in Rule’s Maybach had no reason to search the car. The motion to drop the charges was denied by a Manhattan judge on Thursday morning. Rule currently faces up to three and a half years in prison if found guilty. He will remain out on bail and is due back in court on March 3rd.

For the second consecutive year, Beyonce and Jay-Z have topped Forbes’ Top Earning Couples list. Unlike last year, the “Single Ladies” singer earned most of the money with an outstanding 87-million dollars earned between June 2008 and June 2009 while her “Empire State Of Mind” singer-husband raked in 35-million bucks.
