RIHANNA TO PLAY SUPERBOWL CONCERT

Rihanna is scheduled to play one of this year’s lead-up concerts for Super Bowl XLIV. According to Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam organizers, she will join Justin Bieber in South Beach during the event, which will air Saturday, February 6th on Vh1 at 9 PM Eastern.

LLOYD BANKS ARRESTED IN CANADA

Lloyd Banks was arrested on assault and robbery charges over the weekend in Canada. The G-Unit member and his crew confronted a club promoter over payment for his performance and appearance at Club MV. Their argument reportedly resulted in Banks and his entourage – consisting of Nicklas Sloane, Shawn McGee and Tyrell Cooper – allegedly assaulting and robbing the manager while holding him against his will. All four men were arrested on forceful confinement, aggravated assault and robberycharges

AVATAR Rings Up Another $48.5 Million

Director James Cameron’s latest film, Avatar, topped the box office for the fourth time this past weekend and it has already become the second-most successful film ever worldwide.  Part of the reason people go out to see the movie, which takes place on a fictional moon called Pandora, is because the audience gets immersed in the Pandora’s environment.  Zoe Saldana plays “Neytiri” (Pron: NEIGH-tier-e), one of Pandora’s inhabitants, a member of a species known as the Navi.  She explained her goal when making the flick.

GAME GETS PUSHED BACK

We’ve just learned Game’s upcoming R.E.D. Album won’t be hitting stores in February. According  to his Twitter account, Game delayed the project because he needs to complete more than 200 hours of community service before he can travel. He tweeted: “The judge told my lawyer & my P.O. I can’t travel or do any out of state promo until I finish my community service… ain’t that a b***h.” Fans can expect the disc to now arrive on March 23rd.

Additional News: Game’s community service stems from his 2007 felony gun case.

DIDDY TEAMS WITH DR DRE FOR NEW HEADPHONES

On Thursday, Diddy and Dr. Dre announced their new collaboration together. No, it’s not an album or new single. Puff has followed in Dre’s footsteps to make his own headphones called Diddy Beats. During a press conference event held at Paris Las Vegas, the mogul explained he “wanted something that looked like fashion, but just wasn’t all about fashion.” The sleek in-ear headphones will retail for $179.95 dollars.

FAT JOE EXPLAINS THE DARKSIDE

Fat Joe told MTV News the first single off his upcoming album, The Darkside: Volume 1, is “gonna light up the airwaves.” With lackluster sales for his last disc, J.O.S.E.2, the rapper thinks people are counting him out.  Joey warns people by stating, “The worst thing you can do to Fat Joe is back him in the corner or back him down till he’s got no breathing room. He’s a warrior. He’s a conquistador. He’s coming out fighting and swinging harder than ever.” Fans can expect the lead offering to feature Young Jeezy.

BEYONCE TOURS IN SOUTH AMERICA

Beyonce has reportedly extended her I Am… world tour into parts of the Caribbean and South America. The entertainer will invade major cities in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru as well as Trinidad. B’s upcoming concerts will kick off February 4th in Brazil and run until February 18th in Trinidad, with more dates to be announced at a later time.
